Parent Teachers Association
What is the PTA?
The PTA is an organisation of parents, grandparents and carers who, alongside school teachers and staff, encourage closer links between the school and home. The PTA are best known for their fundraising work with a useful social function too.
We have two purposes of equal importance. Firstly, we raise money to help fund activities and equipment that the school can’t fund from its normal budget. Secondly, we also provide social opportunities and fun activities for everyone to enjoy together, helping to promote the family and community atmosphere that is so important to our children’s experience of school. The PTA committee and Mrs Horbury-Jakeman, Headteacher, will decide together on how the funds raised will be spent. Once your child joins the school, you automatically become a PTA member, so come and join one of our meetings to have your say! We would love to see you there.
We are always looking for people to help us to carry out our events. As the saying goes, many hands make light work - this is so true! We also understand that many parents work, have younger children at home and the general day-to-day pressures of life can all mean that free time is in short supply. However, if you can and would like to help, we would love for you to get involved.
How to get involved: When we have an event, we will send an email or letter home. If you can support that event in any way, then please respond by return of email or calling into the school office. We will then contact you to discuss things further.
