School Values
Respect, Kindness, and Resilience
At Queensway, we believe that a strong foundation of values helps every child thrive and grow into thoughtful, confident individuals. That’s why we place Respect, Kindness and Resilience at the heart of everything we do. We don’t just talk about values—we live them every day. Our approach to teaching Respect, Kindness and Resilience is woven into every part of school life.
These values are reinforced through our curriculum, school ethos, and strong home-school partnerships—ensuring every child feels supported to become the best version of themselves.
Respect teaches our pupils to value themselves, others and the world around them. It’s reflected in how we listen, learn and celebrate our differences. Respect is taught through clear expectations, positive role modelling and a culture of listening and understanding. Pupils learn to value themselves and others through assemblies, class discussions and collaborative activities that celebrate diversity and teamwork.
Kindness creates a caring and inclusive environment where everyone feels safe and supported. We encourage acts of compassion, empathy and friendship every day. Kindness is nurtured through daily interactions and opportunities to care for others—whether through Pupil Leadership roles, charity events or simply helping a friend. We encourage children to notice and celebrate acts of kindness in and out of the classroom.
Resilience empowers our children to face challenges with confidence and determination. We help them develop the courage to keep going even when things get tough. Resilience is developed through a growth mindset approach where mistakes are seen as learning opportunities. We support children in setting goals, facing challenges and reflecting on their progress.
Together, these values shape a positive, nurturing school culture where every child can grow academically, socially and emotionally.
