Year 1 and Year 2 Visit to the Allotments

Recently, our Year 1 and Year 2 children enjoyed a wonderful visit to the local allotments. During their trip, they had the opportunity to explore the different plots, discovering where a variety of fruits and vegetables are grown and learning more about how they are cared for.
The children spent time sketching the beautiful plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables they could see, using their observation skills. They also enjoyed walking around the allotments, seeing some of the dedicated gardeners and witnessing first-hand the hard work that goes into maintaining the plots.
It was a fantastic learning experience, and the children had a brilliant time exploring the outdoors and developing their understanding of where our food comes from as part of their science topic.
A huge thank you to Easington Allotments for welcoming us and allowing us to visit.
