Year 5 and 6 Library Visits

In Term 3, our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils enjoyed an exciting visit to the local library, where they explored how a real lending library works. The children were introduced to the catalogue and shelving system, learning how books are organised and they had the opportunity to practice finding titles independently.
The Librarians kindly demonstrated how to search for authors, genres and subjects, helping pupils understand how to locate books quickly and confidently. The highlight of the trip was choosing and borrowing their own book!
The visit supported our focus on reading for pleasure and independence, and we were very proud of the pupils’ curiosity, excellent behaviour and enthusiasm for books.
