Class Timetable

Please make sure that your child is reading every night for at least 15 minutes. If your child is a confident reader please still ask them about what they are reading, about the characters or the plot. Make sure your child reads some non-fiction too - a magazine, the football pages, an information book linked with the topic.

Homework will be given on a Friday and is expected back the following Friday ready for the class to share. Homework is marked as a class to help children reflect on their learning out of class, but will always be acknowledged by the teacher with extra learning always being rewarded.

If your child attends a Booster group they may have extra homework - the expectation is that this will be done when it is set please. If your child has any questions about homework we encourage them to come back and ask us for help - this helps them in year seven to have the confidence to ask questions as they need to. I will be talking to them about this in the first few weeks.

Useful website links:

An excellent website aimed specifically at Year 6 pupils

A website with questions for Maths and English - really good grammar section

Children have used this website in school for Maths. The English section is not really relevant although the spelling and grammar section is quite good.

This website has a selection of books that you can read online - another way to get your child reading!
Maths boot camp and Literacy boot camp - both great websites but you will need to subscribe if you want to use.

Two websites packed with games to support learning tables

An American website but your child will have a good idea of what they need to work on and what is too easy

A website that gives the children the chance to revise spelling rules from Year 3 to Year 6
